FAB Statement – A New Chapter for West Ham United

4th September 2026

The West Ham United Fan Advisory Board welcomes today’s announcement confirming the significant change in the Club’s shareholding and Daniel Křetínský becoming West Ham United’s largest individual shareholder.

After a prolonged period of uncertainty, we hope this represents an important moment of stability and the beginning of a new chapter for our Club.

We particularly welcome Daniel Křetínský’s acknowledgement of the responsibility that comes with his position and his commitment to communicate further with supporters once the transactions are complete.

Change of control must now mean change of direction. We also look forward to clarity around the role David Sullivan may or may not play outside of being a shareholder. He resigned from the board and we would hope that position remains the same going forward.

West Ham United supporters have demonstrated extraordinary loyalty to this Club, including more than 50,000 committing to season tickets following relegation. They now deserve to hear a clear, ambitious and credible vision for the future.

That vision must explain how West Ham intends to return to the Premier League and establish itself there sustainably; the strategy for football, recruitment and the Academy; the future of the London Stadium and matchday experience; and how supporters will be genuinely placed at the heart of the Club.

The FAB has consistently called for West Ham United to be run as a modern, professional and ambitious football club, with experienced executives empowered to manage its day-to-day operations and clear strategic leadership from the Board. We now have an opportunity to continue to make that a reality.

The FAB welcomes this new chapter and wishes Daniel Křetínský and the Club’s leadership every success.

The uncertainty must now give way to stability. The change in ownership must be followed by clear leadership. And very soon, supporters must be shown the vision for the West Ham United we are all trying to build.
